Tachyons is a technical team that was established in 2016 and its aim was to design and manufacture a vehicle driven by human power without the need of a fuel engine or an electric motor. The team participates in an international competition that is held every year in the United States organized by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

The team’s vision is to design and manufacture a new vehicles that is powered by human pedaling and an electric motor together, eco-friendly, supports a healthy and sporty lifestyle, equipped with advanced electrical systems and able to walk in the city streets.

Each member with a different skill

As a team we work in sector, like chassis's sector and body sector, each one of those sectors work together for a long period of time till we go throught the final assembly of the vehicle.

In the assembly period, the whole team works together with a head of each team to communicate with the other sectors.

Besides our the technical part, every team member play a role in the non-technical sectors, like marketing and media, so to acheive the maximum amout of knowledge.

Previous Participation

Improving throught the years

The team participated in the previous two years (2018 and 2019) in the competition and was able to achieve different rankings among 50 participating universities from all over the world:

1-The 10th place in the design competition in 2019.

2-The 13th place in the overall assessment in 2019.

3-The 16th place in the drag (speed) competition in 2019.

4-The 20th place in the innovation competition in 2018.

We design and manufacture our vehicle, safety and functionality is our goals.

our drive-train consist of pedal transmitting the power from the driver to the the back-wheel's sprocket through chain.

We use light weight and composite materials to build our vehicle, we use aluminum for chassis, and carbon fibers for the body.

Tachyons team aimed to manufacture a lightweight, stable, packable (easily transported from one place to another), three wheeled tadpole human powered vehicle.
